We had a blast yesterday in the Maine State House at Ag Day 2025. It was inspiring to meet other organizations committed to farming, fishing, and ranching in our state–and who believe that agriculture in Maine is the key to viable businesses that support vibrant communities while conserving our natural ecosystems. Some of the highlights: speaking with legislators; sharing a table with the Maine Seaweed Council; oysters from the Maine Aquaculture Association; chatting (and strawberries) with the Maine Vegetable and Small Fruit Growers Association; finding common purpose with Maine Farm and Sea to Institution Network (MEFTI); chatting (and cheese) with the Maine Cheese Guild; chatting (and fudge) with the Maine State Grange; and most importantly in this Year of Youth in Agriculture, speaking with groups of young people from FFA and the Maine Academy of Natural Sciences.
